HybriX Mintjens

Site Location

Antwerp

Capacity

2.400 kWh

The Mintjens project is a sustainable energy initiative developed by HybriX Energy, a project developer specialized in large-scale renewable energy solutions. In this project, HybriX Energy played a central role in enabling Mintjens to transition towards a more sustainable energy system through the implementation of a battery energy storage system (BESS).

The system was designed to increase the self-consumption of solar energy by storing locally generated electricity for use when needed, reducing reliance on the grid. The project commenced in May 2024 and includes a total battery capacity of 600 kW / 2,400 kWh.

The installation consists of CATL LFP battery modules distributed across 12 Hite battery cabinets (200 kWh each), combined with an integrated Hite inverter (105 kVA). The system is controlled via an energy meter at the point of connection, including integrated battery and energy management, with an AC inverter capacity of 600 kVA (software-limited).

The scope of works included civil works for foundations and cable trenches, paving works, installation and connection of a 630 kVA medium-voltage cabin, energy metering, battery placement, and compliance inspections according to AREI and C10/11 standards. The battery installation is secured with perimeter fencing.

The system was commissioned in September 2024, with full delivery completed by the end of the same month. This project represents an important step for Mintjens in reducing grid dependency, increasing the use of renewable energy, and contributing to a more sustainable and resilient energy system.
